Coronavirus update

Bread of Life Lutheran Church Georgetown

“I am the bread of life whoever comes after me will never hunger again…” John 6:35

Greetings Family of God;

Grace, peace and mercy to you from God our Father and our Lord Jesus Christ!

We were hopeful the days of suspending Divine Service were behind us but the recent escalations of COVID cases has caused us to observe the Governor’s latest recommendations for counties in the RED. Unfortunately, this week makes the second out of the last three weeks Scott County was in this category placing us in the unfortunate position to suspend services per the Governor’s recommendations of not host any gatherings for counties in the red.

At this point the determination of whether our county is red or not and whether we can proceed with Divine Service will be made each Thursday based on the rolling average of the week. We will make notifications promptly Thursday nights. In the event Divine Service is canceled, we will conduct and record the abbreviated Divine Service we have used on Sundays during COVID and put it on-line Sunday. Additionally, we will put the sermon on our webpage. Also, please know I am available to meet with anyone who needs any pastoral counsel.

Even though these are tough times for many, our giving and outreach efforts continue to be strong. We have conducted several outreaches to our community and neighbors, and will plan many more. The pandemic cannot and will not stop God’s word and love from continuing to move forward. Your continued generous giving continues to fund some of these efforts and will continue to do so. If you know anyone in need, please let us know.

Psalm 4:1 says, “Answer me when I call to you, my righteous God. Give me relief from my distress; have mercy on me and hear my prayer.”

In times of distress and anxiety we can call upon our gracious God. You can most certainly have complete faith He will hear you! Your faith in Christ has guaranteed you access to the Father in your time of need. Hebrew 4:16, says “Let us, therefore, come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.” Call upon Him he hears you and will grant you strength, peace and mercy in your time of distress.

We love you! If you need anything please reach out to Carri and I , or one of our wonderful people who participate in any of our care ministries. Do not suffer in silence. You are not alone, we are here, and we care.

In Christ’s Love,

Pastor Hallock
